Mohammad Kazem Anbarlooei has said that despite crossing the redlines, the government hasn’t gained any result in foreign policy.
Moatalefe Eslami Party’s deputy secretary and senior journalist Mohammad Kazem Anbarlooei had joined our debate show “Sadid” where he explained the authorities held by the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran and its limitations. “The Constitution has provided 6 responsibilities to the head of the executive branch of the country.”
Executing the Islamic laws, maintaining equitable and fair relations, creating a platform for reaching the final goals of an Islamic society, repelling the bureaucratic and autocratic system and designing equitable Islamic governance, and establishing a functional executive structure that is capable of accelerating the official commitments. These are the main responsibilities of the President.
Anbarlooei pointed out that a complete article of the Constitution has explained the duties of the executive branch. “Article No. 113 says that the President is the second-in-charge after the Leader and is completely responsible for the execution of the constitution.”
He told our host that Article No. 4 of the constitution which describes Economical and financial issues, also says that the President is directly responsible for the economic condition of the citizens and their livelihood.
Anbarlooei also said that according to the 126th article of the constitution, The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran is responsible for the budget planning too. “Besides this responsibility, He or she is provided with the authorities to completely define and prepare the yearly budget of the state.”
He said that according to the 3rd article of the constitution, the president is liable for the current economic situation of the country. “According to this article he has been given 16 key responsibilities.”
Anbarlooei insisted that a Presidential candidate, must have a clear understanding of the constitution and be aware of the substantial responsibilities of this post.
“The constitution has given the president, the final say on the economy.”
He said that the candidates must be aware of the executive power of this office and have a deep knowledge of the constitution.
Anbarlooei also criticized the current President’s those acts which are considered out of his authorities and said that those who try to find fault in the constitution and the President’s authorities must raise their points in the academic circles.
Anbarlooei who’s also the chief editor of the Resalat Newspaper challenged the faultfinders and asked them that is there any other authority left which the President hasn’t been awarded? “Till now, nobody has made a claim regarding any authority which may have been neglected by the constitution.
Criticizing President, Anbarlooei said that instead of apologizing to the public, Mr. President is falsely arguing the limited power of the office. “Today, the government’s vast authority even in the subject of the foreign policy is evident.” He further said that they’ve even been engaged in extra-constitutional acts and have bypassed the Parliament mandates too, although, without gaining any result.
“The Supreme Leader had raised some conditions for the Nuclear Talks. Even the Supreme National Security Council which is led by the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran made it clear that the nuclear deal will remain a conditional agreement and the negotiators were obliged to make a deal under this context but, according to their official statement, some of these conditions were ignored.”
Anbarlooei said that not only the criticism of the neglecting behavior of Iran’s negotiating team was barred by the government but the other side of the deal was granted all the points they needed in a matter of two weeks. On the other hand, Iran had to engage in a marathon of 6 years trying to gain its points mentioned in the JCPOA.
Anbarlooei claimed that the Previous administration never accepted the bullying of the Western powers while the current government affirmed that, they know how to make an international level discussion. “They couldn’t score a single point while more embargoes and sanctions were imposed upon Iran and the other side is still after a new set of discussions.”
