An Iranian precedent diplomat stressed that Iran’s missiles are the second strategic issue for the United States, and that it is our country’s regional influence which is the main problem for the U.S. authorities in their return to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
In an interview with "Rouydad" program on Radio Goftogoo, Alireza Sheikh Attar stated that there exist disagreements in the Vienna Talks; “We signed the agreement with its goods and bads, and promises were exchanged, but then we fulfilled our responsibilities according to the tact while the other side refused to do so.”
He noted that the other side's violation wasn’t a defective problem; “The United States has a different view and declared that since they intended to keep Iran away from the nuclear bomb, they signed an incomplete agreement, and today they reached a point where they tend to complete this agreement.”
Sheikh Attar continued; “It’s not about nuclear issues since those are quite controllable, besides, our political logic doesn’t direct us towards manufacturing nuclear weapons. Their problem is rather about Iran's influence in the region and our rocket power is of less importance to them.”
This Iranian West Asia analyst said that the Palestinian Intifada once used stone for resistance while today they improved their technical knowledge, and we may help them to acquire missile knowledge; “Resistance missiles are developing to be more advanced day by day.”
Sheikh Attar mentioned that the reason for the US return to the JCPOA was to limit Iran's influence in the region; “Maybe friends at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs speak of closeness in the Vienna Talks and maybe they allow us to sell a limited amount of oil.”
He added; “Some banking transactions may be accepted under difficult conditions, such as joining the FATF, but this is not all Iran wants, we say that the conditions should be restored.”
Sheikh Attar explained; “At that time, the issue of Iran’s regional influence was not raised, this is while Trump came with the maximum pressure on Iran too.”
“Some argue that Trump has implemented the policy of maximum pressure correctly and therefore it is failing today. Such news reaches the Americans from inside Iran, and the other part (of their plan) is fulfilled by the Munafiqeen,” he added.
Sheikh Attar also called the lobbying, talks and speeches of some members of the government system another poisonous current that directs the Americans.
