Expert on Nuclear issues Hassan Beheshtipour appraised Iran’s latest technological achievement in producing the nuclear fuel plate which will exclusively be used for medical purposes.
Talking to “Rooydad” Show Hasan Beheshtipour said: Production of Nuclear fuel plate is considered a grand achievement for any country because its accuracy must be kept at a thousandth of a millimeter.
Explaining the complicated technology, he said that the nuclear fuel is sandwiched between the two plates which need advanced technology and knowledge. “Current fuel options are also much more complicated than what was produced previously. Iran stepped on the path of necessary research and technology for achieving this goal after the US chose to exit the deal; Thus, Tehran reciprocated by suspending some of its obligations under the JCPOA.”
He further added that all these activities are done under the surveillance of the IAEA, so any excuse by the rivals is out of the question.
Beheshtipour also said that Iran has nothing to hide and it will exclusively use this type of fuel for radioisotope medicines. “It’s quality is also much better than the previous products.”
He informed us that the production process is completed in a period of 6 to 12 months while the final product is of significant importance to the patients in need of medicine inside Iran or outside.
He emphasized the fact that the operational phase is considered the third step of this great achievement. “The Tehran Reactor runs on 20 percent enriched Uranium while the Western countries want us to remain dependent on other countries.”
Beheshtipour believes that they won’t provide us with such a high-quality fuel; therefore, this novel accomplishment is a step towards self-sufficiency as well as to flaunt Iran’s nuclear advancement before the West.
He also said that the Europeans claim that Iran’s latest step is against the Nuclear deal. “If they believe in such an accusation then they must put the 11 commitments into action which they made after the US left the deal; Then we will return to our obligations as well.
“They want to pressurize Iran into its duties and erect limitations before it while exempting themselves from their own liabilities; How can Tehran accept such a double standard?”
He called Iran’s steps a measured reaction to the ones made by the Western powers. “We won’t keep waiting for the western decisions regarding the JCPOA.”
“Iran will continue on with its peaceful nuclear program because it’s under IAEA’s strict surveillance and no excuse can be raised against its tranquility.”
